Laskó is the Hungarian name of Lug, a village where Croatian and Hungarian traditions have intertwined for centuries – at the table, too. The hotel is a grand old Baranja country house furnished in the spirit of tradition, and the restaurant carries the village's name because we want every plate to say: Baranja.
We start from local produce and recipes handed down through generations, and our young chefs, with experience from fusion kitchens, read them anew – with more imagination and a lighter hand. The approach is modern, but the flavours and portions stay true to Baranja. Paprika, the trademark of Lug, even makes it into dessert.
From gnocchi and spätzle to strudel and pancakes – everything is made by hand in our kitchen. We left fish stew off the menu on purpose: Baranja already has its institutions for that. We offer you the rest of Baranja.
Hotel director Vinko Ručević is a passionate wine lover, founder of a well-known Osijek wine shop and organiser of the WineOS festival. That is why we gave the wine list and food pairing the same care as the menu. You will find Baranja and Slavonian winemakers – Josić, Enjingi, Krauthaker – alongside selected Dalmatian and international wines.
